Products
GPC carbohydrates
possess excellent compressibility, wet/dry binding, coating, and nonhygroscopic properties. They are effective carriers and bulking agents and also help control viscosity and osmolality.  Drug Master File numbers are available upon request.

Spress® pregelatinized corn starch NF is GPC's answer to the need for a versatile, direct-compression tableting and wet-binding excipient.  Spress line of products provide free flowing, excellent binding properties for tablets and dry granulations and a low viscosity ambient temperature binder for wet granulations.  As a truly multifunctional product, Spress starch performs as binder, disintegrant, and lubricant in one excipient.

MALTRIN® maltodextrins and corn syrup solids are versatile pharmaceutical ingredients. They are consistent, soluble and pure, and offer the pharmaceutical industry diverse functionality and cost effectiveness for developing new products, reformulating existing products, and line expansion. They are mixtures of glucose polymers produced by the controlled hydrolysis of corn starch. They are most often categorized by dextrose equivalence (DE). DE is a measure of reducing power compared to a dextrose standard of 100. The higher the DE, the greater the extent of starch hydrolysis, resulting in a smaller average polymer size.  They are excellent carriers and binders for tablets and granulations, film formers for encapsulation and coating, and provide an osmotically balanced carbohydrate source for medical nutritionals, infant and geriatric formulas and sports beverages.

MALTRIN® maltodextrins are defined by the FDA as products having a dextrose equivalence (DE) less than 20. They are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) food ingredients. MALTRIN maltodextrins can meet both Food Chemical Codex (FCC) and National Formulary (NF) monographs.

MALTRIN® corn syrup solids are defined by the FDA as dried glucose syrup with a DE of 20 or higher. They are also considered a GRAS ingredient. Corn syrup solids have moderate sweetness and low viscosity.

MALTRIN QD® maltodextrins and corn syrup solids are quick-dispersing forms of the standard MALTRIN products. These products are produced by an agglomeration process that increases particle size and lowers bulk density compared to standard products. They are easily dispersed into water or other aqueous-based systems. They have excellent dispersion and flow properties and function as direct compression binders and diluents. They can also carry limited quantities of oil without losing their physical form or flow properties.

PURE-DENT® starches are high-quality modified and unmodified starches. The PURE-DENT line of pharmaceutical powdered starches has many pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications including wet and dry granulation, tableting and body powders. GPC offers NF or USP starches for formulations.

GPC is an FDA-approved producer of absorbable dusting powder USP for use as a lubricant for surgical and examination gloves.

PURE-COTE® modified starches are food-grade starches that have been specially modified to produce clear, flexible films. In pharmaceutical products, these starches can be used as the primary or secondary film former in the tablet coatings or granulations. Finished coatings are water soluble, clear, and have good sheen. PURE-COTE can provide an economical partial replacement for typical polymers (i.e., HPMC) used in an aqueous film coating.

INSTANT PURE-COTE® modified starches are new, cold-water soluble modified starches uniquely designed for film-forming applications and aqueous film coating.  INSTANT PURE-COTE modified starches can be used in a wide variety of applications where film-forming properties are desired for coatings, barriers, texture modification, binding or adhesives.

PURE-GEL® modified starches provide stable viscosity under extreme pH, heat and processing conditions.  They are freeze/thaw stable and help stabilize emulsions.  PURE-GEL products are excellent thickeners for creams and lotions, shampoos, shave creams, or for any formula that requires a mild yet stable thickener.
